1 LT Jeff Craft was a 2000 graduate of
Marcellus High School. He attended OCC
for one year then was accepted into the
United States Military Academy at West Point.
He graduated from West Point and was
commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in May,
2005. He went through Infantry Officer Basic
Course and Mechanized Infantry Officer
Course at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He is
stationed at Schweinfurt, Germany with the
1-26 Infantry Division as a Mechanized
Infantry Officer. Jeff returned to Germany
on November 16, 2007, after serving in
Ramadi, Iraq. He will remain in Germany
for at least a year before he is deployed again.
In December, 2006 Jeff was wounded by a
sniper. After medical treatment he was back
at his outpost leading his men within 48
hours. At another outpost, he and his men
were able to bring safety to the area and
reopened the school. They also got the
medical clinic back into operation.
His unit has been moved to several times.
This was their 5th sector they have been in
so far in Ramadi. He has been in Irag much
longer than he had anticipated.
