Marcellus park has pretty decent concerts on Thursdays and is a pretty park.
Yes Phil & Mark visit the area. But is the entry really by a Mark Rodriguez in NM? Or is it them?
Maybe it's all a figment of the imagination?

I recently had to move from a beautiful apartment in Marcellus because my downstairs neighbors are selling drugs. I moved to the Village because it is beautiful and the schools are wonderful, this has been a huge disappointment to myself and my children. My landlord was made aware of the problem but refused to force them to move. My children 14, and 10 were both offered drugs and asked to buy drugs. I have since left the apt. due to this situation and now the landlord is suing me for $5000 for breaking the lease. I am asking for anyone to post any concerns about the use and or selling of drugs in Marcellus ,specifically on Slocombe avenue in the village. Thank you.

What a thoughtless decision to destroy a historic tree for a drainage ditch! This Mayor is displaying no sense of for the beauty of nature. In Bennington Vt. 45min. ride from me they have honored a beautiful old tree with a plaque. I would like to suggest to the mayor that he take a ride around our state of New York and visit the historic sites that our residents have preserved.et
Web site reply: The tree was saved.

when i lived in marcellus, i took it for granted that all streets in the US were lined with big, beautiful, established trees. the idea that maple street could actually be lined with giant maple trees was not something i ever thought to question.
but now that i have lived outside of marcellus, i realize that established tree lined streets are a luxury that marcellus enjoys among a small number of streets in the US.
diseases and construction remove countless established trees, and new trees take many decades to even approach what marcellus has right now. it is shameful that a large healthy black maple tree, indeed the champion of NY state, is in danger of being destroyed right in marcellus. this tree should be preserved and celebrated as part of marcellus' identity. 100 years from now, this tree will probably still be defining the character of reed street -- not the sidewalk, street, and drainage pipes below it.

The trees on Reed St. have always been beautiful and I used to love riding my bike along the street under all the big old trees. Removing the black maple for utilities is not the best plan for the town, especially since utilities can be re-routed. Save the trees and the beauty of Marcellus.

Marcellus is a reminder of all that was good about the past and what is still vital in the present. People can tear things down...they can also agree to alter plans that are made...only God can make a tree. It's not like one can be "built" elsewhere! I doubt that it would survive a move. There needs to be a plan to save that tree. I have, for years, wished I could move back to Marcellus...having lived in 9 states, it's still my top choice. I do hope and pray the tree can be save.

PLEASE do not cut down that tree. It is such an amazing, beautiful part of Marcellus and should never be cut down. We should be proud to have the largest black maple tree in NY state!
